Bhatty says, “there are so many benefits to including sunset blush in your summer makeup routine. One being, mixing your blush with a liquid highlighter plumps your skin – reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and providing a luminous and natural sheen.”

Professional makeup artist, Emma Davidson says, “the fusion of the different colors, like orange, pinks, peach and corals, can help bring out a natural warming of the face, which will always bring youthfulness to your look.”

How to do sunset blush
Sunset blush step 1: Prep skin with bronzer
Shirley Pinkson, co-founder of Well People and head of education for e.l.f. Beauty advises to first prep your skin by applying 1-2 pumps of bronzing drops or liquid bronzer to “enhance your natural glow while adding some warmth.”
Sunset blush step 2: Strategically apply the blush shades
After your face is glowy and bronzed, you’re ready to start the colorful effect on your cheeks. “For the application, place your coral or orange tinted blush on the high points of the face, all you need is two dots at the top of your cheek bone, right near your temple,” advises Davidson. “Staying on the cheek bone, add two dots of your light pink blush next to the orange dots. Place one pink dot under the outer corner of your eye and the other dot closer to the apple of your cheek.”

Once everything is applied, you can then go in with your blending brush and “use the brush to buff out the dots in a tapping motion,” notes Davidson. “Start with the light pink dots, blending upward toward the orange blush, close to the temple,” she says. You’ll begin to see the fusion of the colors blend together in an ombré effect! And of course you can change the shades of these colors depending on what you like for your skin tone, do what works for you!”
