Mark your calendars! A new Hallmark film has been announced and it will equally feed your love for the romance channel, the holiday season and your new obsession for the Kansas City Chiefs (likely thanks to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce).
The movie , which is set to begin filming next month, will be called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. The new flick will be set in Kansas City, Missouri, where both the Chiefs and Hallmark are based.
The Chiefs’ president, Mark Donovan, explained of the film, “This partnership unites two passionate fan bases and gives us an opportunity to show Chiefs Kingdom’s energy and tradition on one of the most watched channels during the holiday season.”

The film, which will air during Hallmark’s “Countdown to Christmas” programming, will star the channel’s alums Tyler Hynes and Hunter King as the lead love interests, as well as Ed Begley Jr. Not all filming locations are known yet, but the famous Arrowhead Stadium, home to the Chiefs, will be featured. This will also mark the first time an NFL stadium has been used for a Hallmark film.
The movie will follow Alana Higman (King), who comes from a line of longtime superfans of the Kansas City Chiefs. Higman is certain that they will be the winners of the team’s Fan of the Year contest. Derrick (Hynes), director of fan engagement, must evaluate Alana’s family alongside the other contestants. As he starts to spend time with her, there is clearly a spark between them.
But when a precious family Chief’s item goes missing, Alana starts to question her thoughts on fate and destiny, as well as her potential future with Derrick – unless, of course, the spirit of Christmas can save the day.
More about the Chiefs Hallmark movie deal
Everybody loves a little Christmas spirit and the NFL season, so why not pair that with the fan-favorite football and get a little bit of both. Hallmark’s chief branding officer, Darren Abbott, shared their reason for the partnership.
“By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football,” Abbott started, “We are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”

Chiefs president Donovan added his own thoughts, stating, “As a club, we pride ourselves on exploring new ways to grow our brand, as well as connect with new audiences.” He also added the SuperBowl champions are “honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this.”
The film will also be executively produced by Skydance Media thanks to their recent partnership with the NFL. “With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” explained Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming.

This is also not the first time Hallmark has collaborated with the NFL team. In celebration of the playoff season, the team created the campaign “Tis the Preseason,” which featured the film’s star, Tyler Hynes, and Hallmark actress Janel Parrish. There were also appearances by Donna Kelce and Chiefs players Trey Smith and Tommy Townsend. And, of course, there were many nods to Swift.
To celebrate this collaboration between the Kansas City Chiefs and Hallmark, Kansas City’s downtown skyline will be lit purple and red, starting on July 25.
